It Ain’t Easy Being Dad

Happy Father’s Day

It ain’t easy being Dad. Here’s  to all  the Fathers who power through the tough stuff. Bad ties. Crooked mugs. Socks no one asked for. And those “World’s Best Dad” gifts that come with glue fingerprints and a lot of heart.

Dads smile anyway. They wear the tie once. They keep the mug forever.

Looking for a grin? I’ve got a Calvin and Hobbes Father’s Day post that always delivers.

Here’s to them.

Father’s Day Is Right Around the Corner

We all love our dads… but buying for them?
That’s a whole different story.

Here’s the typical conversation:

Me: “Hey Dad, Father’s Day is coming up. What would you like this year?”
Dad: “Nothing, I’m fine. Save your money. Don’t spend it on me.”

Well, that’s a bummer.
So what do you get? Another tie he’ll never wear? Something for his grill? Maybe a power tool or two?

The best gifts — for any occasion — are the ones people actually use. Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Christmas, birthdays… it doesn’t matter. Practical wins every time.

And dads? They reliably love two things:

  1. Sleep
  2. Food

So here are two easy Father’s Day ideas that check both boxes.

1. Give Dad the Gift of Sleep

Promeed
Your dad will love the silky softness of Promeed sheets and pillows. And let’s be honest — if Mom is the one making the bed, she’ll appreciate the upgrade too. Win‑win.

Happy Father’s Day

Father’s Day

Recently Calvin and Hobbes cartoons started showing up in my Facebook feed.  C&H is definitely one of my all time favorite cartoon strips and with the arrival of Father’s Day it made me think about how fathers influence our lives. A lot of comments on the cartoons talk about how mean Calvin’s Dad is to him but I think that just people who are too wrapped up in today’s PC climate. I think what his dad does is hysterical. After all, Calvin could bring out the worst in most people.

Calvin appreciates his father’s wisdom and to prove it here’s a Father’s Day strip for your reading pleasure.

So Happy Father’s Day , Dad.  We love and appreciate your words of wisdom!
