Paws, Purrs, and Powerballs

šŸ€Ā A Cozy Tale of Luck, Cats, and Dreaming Big

There’s something about autumn that makes dreaming feel easier.

Maybe it’s the hush of early evenings, the rustle of leaves, or the way the world seems to slow down just enough for a little magic to slip through. As the days grow shorter and the nights stretch long, I find myself curled up with Banner and Balboa, sipping tea and wondering… what if?

What if this is the week I win the Mega Millions?

🐾 Feline Fortune-Tellers

My cats have a knack for timing. They know when the treat jar opens, when the sunbeam hits the couch, and when I need a nudge to stop working and start snuggling. So when Banner pawed at a crumpled lottery ticket on the counter, I took it as a sign.

Balboa promptly sat on it. Clearly, the numbers were blessed.

šŸŽ± Numbers from the Heart

I don’t play every week, but when I do, I let whimsy guide me. A birthday here, a lucky street number there. Sometimes I pick numbers that feel like poetry—soft, round, and full of possibility.

This week’s picks?

  • Main Numbers: 3, 14, 27, 35, 48
  • Mega Ball: 7
Inspired by forest trails, feline moods, and the quiet hope tucked into every ticket.

šŸ›ļø Cozy Dreams of Winning Big

I don’t expect to win. But I love the ritual—the moment of imagining what I’d do with a windfall. A cabin in the woods. A donation to the local zoo. A heated cat perch for Banner and Balboa. Maybe even a luxury automatic feeder that sings lullabies.

Until then, we’ll keep dreaming. Wrapped in blankets, surrounded by purrs, and holding onto the kind of luck that lives in everyday magic.

What if I Won the Lottery

What If I Won the Lottery? Spoiler: Banner Would Demand a Gold-Plated Cat Tree

Chewy

Let’s just say I checked my ticket, fainted dramatically onto a pile of unfolded laundry, and woke up a millionaire. What happens next? Oh, the possibilities.

Real Coffee

First, I’d upgrade my coffee. No more ā€œmystery roastā€ from the bottom shelf—I’m talking beans hand-whispered to by monks in the Andes. My mornings would begin with a cup so smooth it sings lullabies to your soul. Balboa would get his own mug, because obviously he’s earned it by knocking mine off the counter every day.

Home Sweet Home

Then there’s the house. Not a mansion—too echoey. I’d go for a cozy haven with a waterfall wall, glowing furniture, and a secret room filled entirely with plush throws and scented candles. Banner would have a biometric paw scanner to access his private sunroom, complete with heated cushions and a live-stream of birds who’ve signed a modeling contract.

Travel- You Bet

Utah Landscapes - Utah Top Photography Locations • PhotoTraces

I’d travel, of course. Utah’s Mighty Five? Done. I’d hike with a personal sherpa who also moonlights as a poet, narrating my journey in verse while I snack on lavender shortbread. My blog would explode with tales of enchanted canyons and mystical chipmunks who whisper investment advice.

What Would Happen to My Store

And the store—Welcoming Haven would become Welcoming Heaven. I’d launch a line of nature-themed tech for kids that glows, chirps, and teaches them how to identify clouds by personality. Every product would come with a haiku and a biodegradable glitter packet.

But let’s be honest: I’d still write. Still chase the perfect tagline. Still tell stories about Banner’s dramatic hairball performances and Balboa’s existential stares. Because even with a vault full of cash, the real treasure is sharing the magic of everyday moments—with a little extra sparkle.

All those Little Things

Those Things you almost forget to mention

I’ve got a few things to share with you. A little of this and a little of that. Things I forgot to mention and things that just didn’t seem to fit in any place else. So today’s post is a little bit of house keeping.

The “Sandcastles”

This post really seemed to hit the spot. So I want to share a couple more photos. The first one is The Sand with the DragonĀ Tattoo. Catchy

Sand sculpted like a dragon

Then there’s the sculpture namedĀ Wishful Thinking. Who among us haven’t indulged in wishful thinking at one time or another? Here’s a little I dream of Jeannie magic along with the winning lottery ticket. That’s really Wishful Thinking!

My Photo Page Has Gone to The BirdsFlamingos

Speaking of my photo page link, I had it in my menu but it disappeared. I’ve been trying to figure out what went wrong. You should be able to see it and click on it. Its really bumming me out. I will get it figured out but it might be awhile. Technology is not my friend, its my challenge. I put together a lovely slide show with music. The theme is Birds. So until I get the link fixed, you can find my Birds slide show atĀ http://dustyroadsphotos.zenfolio.com/

Did I forget the Dessert?

Remember the Birthday Celebration at Woods Hole? I never told you where we ended up for dessert. A birthday celebration needs cake and ice cream so that’s what we had. Ā Leaving Woods Hole we made a stop in Falmouth, MA at Cupcake Charlie’s . What a great way to have Cake and Ice Cream. Everyone can choose their own flavors. Its easy to see why Cupcake Charlie’s is called “New England’s Best Cupcakes”.
