About Custer State Park, SD

Buffalo spread over the rolling hills at Custer State Park

Custer State Park, SD is named for George A Custer of Little Big Horn Fame.  Although the expedition he led is best know for finding gold in the Black Hills, Custer was most interested in the natural beauty of the area.

Custer State Park is a 71,000 acre reserve that is home to free roaming herds of bison, elk, pronghorn, mule deer and White tail and the list goes on.
